Other News

1. Donations to the Priest Fund: We have received thus far $1,625 to the Priest Fund. We sent an appeal letter in August asking for a drive to fulfill Father Athanasius’s dream of reaching $100,000 in that Fund by Father’s birthday on November 15.

2. Running expenses of the church: This past Sunday evening I stopped by the church to make sure the AC was turned back to 79,… and I smelt a very strong odor of sulfur/gas. I called the gas company and a man came out and checked out the building and did find a gas leak inside and a problem outside. The gas was turned off to the building. The plumber came out and found the 3 problem spots in the building and the corroded pipe outside. The Vectren person just came out and turned the gas back on. Running a church is expensive and these unexpected additional expenses are costly. It cost us $1,920 , but had the plumber not found the leaks and we would have had to replace all the piping and that would have cost thousands.

Please remember that the expenses of the church are covered by the money people contribute/tithe. Some give weekly, others monthly,… If you are a member, or a catechumen, or an inquirer and consider this your home church please consider how you can financially support the running of the church. For those staying home and watching via live streaming you can still contribute to the church. Donations can be mailed via check to the church, 102 E Broadway St, Greenwood, IN 46143 or you can also contribute via Zelle transfer to give@stmaryegypt.org.

3. Study Bibles: A case of 12 Study Bibles was ordered and just arrived. They are $35 each. You can purchase yours in the bookstore.

In Christ’s love
